The United States Governor of the Bank may buy 67,500 additional shares of the Bank’s capital stock for the United States. That purchase only takes place if Congress approves the money in advance in its funding laws. Up to $814,286,250 is allowed to be provided to the Secretary of the Treasury to pay for those extra shares. That money does not expire at the end of a fiscal year.
