Title 22 › Chapter 7— INTERNATIONAL BUREAUS, CONGRESSES, ETC. › Subchapter XV— INTERNATIONAL MONETARY FUND AND BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT › § 286z
Requires the Treasury Secretary to tell the United States Executive Director at the Fund to start talks with other Fund directors and managers and to push for rules that will collect and share more timely financial data every quarter. The data must cover loans and credit lines that banks or nonbanks extend to private and public entities (including government bodies and central banks) and the credit those entities receive when the lenders are not mainly based in the borrower’s country. The Fund must also make the information public and review ways to improve the information used for international lending and borrowing decisions. Explains that “credit” means outstanding loans and unused lines of credit. Authorizes the President to use the power in section 286f to require any person under U.S. jurisdiction to provide the information the Fund needs.
