The President must pick a U.S. representative and up to two alternates to go to specified meetings of the Organization’s general council. If the United States is on the executive committee, the President must also name a representative and up to one alternate for executive committee meetings; these can be the same people or different ones. Each named representative may be paid up to $12,000 per annum, and each alternate up to $10,000 per annum, for the times the President sets. Members of the Senate or House, and U.S. officers, do not get this pay if they are named.
