Within 30 days after each calendar quarter ends, the Secretary must send the proper congressional committees a list of every chief of mission or United States representative overseas with the rank of Ambassador who, in the prior quarter, was approved by the Under Secretary of State for Management to be outside their assigned country for reasons other than official travel or temporary duty. The report must also show how many days each of those people was outside their assigned country during that quarter for those non-official-travel reasons.
