The United States allows and supports help for building local credit unions in Poland and Hungary. U.S. citizens, non‑insured financial firms, and other people may give money, loans, capital deposits, and other financial or technical help to those credit unions. Federally insured banks and credit unions may only give technical help, and only if it is careful and follows safe banking rules. Credit union — a member‑owned, nonprofit cooperative where people with a common bond pool savings, lend to each other, and run the organization. Federally insured depository institution — an insured bank or an insured credit union.
