Title 22 › Chapter 64— UNITED STATES RESPONSE TO TERRORISM AFFECTING AMERICANS ABROAD › § 5504
Within 60 days after November 16, 1990, the Secretary of State must write rules so that when an aviation disaster abroad directly involves United States citizens, the State Department will, if possible, assign one specific person and one backup to act as a liaison for each affected citizen’s family. When setting up a toll-free communications system about disasters and U.S. citizens abroad, the Secretary must reserve a toll-free telephone number for the exclusive use of families of citizens who have been determined to be directly involved.
