Title 22 › Chapter 64— UNITED STATES RESPONSE TO TERRORISM AFFECTING AMERICANS ABROAD › § 5512
The Secretary of State, working with the Secretary of Transportation, must write and publish rules to stop terrorists from tricking international air travelers into helping them. Notices about those rules must be posted clearly in U.S. and foreign international airports. The two Secretaries must also seek international agreements, especially in aviation talks, to make common global standards for those rules. The Secretary of State must also tell the public when U.S. government rewards are available for tips about international terrorist acts, including rewards listed in section 2708(a) and in title 18, chapter 204. When appropriate and possible, those notices should also be posted in international airports. Congress thinks the Secretary of Transportation should properly use and train officers and employees of other U.S. agencies who work at international airports to detect explosives and firearms that could threaten international air travel.
