Summary

Use the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee’s interagency working group on energy to help U.S. energy companies make a long-term plan to enter the energy markets of the independent states of the former Soviet Union. The group must work with those countries’ officials to encourage U.S. investment, help coordinate cleanup projects at former Soviet nuclear weapons and commercial waste sites, and work with U.S. energy businesses to find opportunities like oil, gas, clean coal technology, energy efficiency, and joint ventures with local companies.
