Congress asks the Department of State to include, when it prepares the report called for under section 3282(c), a short summary of demarches the United States sent or received from other countries about activities that matter for stopping nuclear spread. A demarche is any official written or spoken message one government gives another to say it is worried about past, current, or possible actions that could help spread unsafeguarded special nuclear material or nuclear explosive devices, to ask the other government to counter those actions, or both.
