Title 22 › Chapter 85— NORTH KOREAN HUMAN RIGHTS › Subchapter I— PROMOTING THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF NORTH KOREANS › § 7813
The United States should boost broadcasts into North Korea. It should add news rebroadcasts and work toward 12 hours of programming each day from outlets like Radio Free Asia and Voice of America. The law also calls for more funding for nongovernmental broadcasters, especially groups that use North Korean defectors in programs. Within 120 days after October 18, 2004, the Broadcasting Board of Governors must report to Congress on current U.S. broadcasts to North Korea and provide a plan to reach 12 hours daily, including the technical needs and cost details.
