§8514b Imposition of Sanctions with Respect to Persons Who Engage in Censorship or Other Related Activities Against Citizens of Iran

Summary

The President must impose sanctions on people put on a special list. Within 90 days after August 10, 2012, the President must send the appropriate congressional committees a list of people who, on or after June 12, 2009, punished or limited Iranians’ speech or assembly, or blocked access to print or broadcast media, including helping Iran jam signals. The President must update the list when required by law and when new information arises. The list given to Congress must be unclassified but may have a classified annex. The public part must be posted on the Treasury and State Department websites.
