§8514c Imposition of Sanctions with Respect to Persons Engaged in the Diversion of Goods Intended for the People of Iran

Summary

The President must impose the sanctions listed in section 8514(c) on anyone placed on a special list, but those sanctions do not include banning the import of goods. As information becomes available, the President must send Congress a list of people who, on or after January 2, 2013, took part in corruption or other actions that diverted goods (like agricultural items, food, medicine, and medical devices) meant for the people of Iran, or who stole money from selling or reselling those goods. The list must be unclassified (it can have a classified annex) and the unclassified part must be made public and posted on the Treasury and State Department websites. “Good” uses the meaning given in section 8801(a).
