Sets meanings for key words used in this part. "Admission," "admitted," and "alien" follow the definitions in Title 8, section 1101. "Appropriate congressional committees" means these Senate committees: Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; Committee on Foreign Relations; Committee on the Judiciary; and Select Committee on Intelligence; and these House committees: Committee on Financial Services; Committee on Foreign Affairs; Committee on the Judiciary; and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. "Correspondent account" and "payable-through account" follow Title 31, section 5318A. "Foreign financial institution" is defined by the Secretary of the Treasury under section 8513(i). A "foreign person" is anyone who is not a United States person. A "United States person" is a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident, or an entity formed under U.S. law, including a foreign branch of that entity.
