Title 22 › Chapter 93— UNITED STATES-ISRAEL COOPERATION › § 8604
Within 180 days after July 27, 2012, the President must send a report to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee on whether Israel still has a qualitative military edge given current regional instability. If that report is sent within one year of the due date for the first quadrennial report required by section 201(c)(2) of the Naval Vessel Transfer Act of 2008 (Public Law 110–429; 22 U.S.C. 2776 note), it may replace that quadrennial report. Also within 180 days after July 27, 2012, the President must send a report to the appropriate congressional committees on three things: steps to speed up and make Israel’s F–35 purchases more cost‑effective and timely; efforts to expand U.S.-Israel cooperation in homeland security, counter‑terrorism, maritime security, energy, cyber‑security and related areas; and actions to include Israel in the defense of the Eastern Mediterranean.
