Title 22 › Chapter 96A— UKRAINE FREEDOM SUPPORT › § 8925a
The Secretary of Defense may accept and keep money, property, and services from foreign governments and other groups this fiscal year and in each year after. With the agreement of the Secretary of State, those contributions can be used under section 1250 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (Public Law 114–92) to replace weapons or items taken from U.S. stock and to recover or dispose of equipment already given to the groups named in that law. The Secretary must consult congressional defense committees before giving support to the forces or groups listed in subparagraph (B). The Secretary must tell the congressional defense committees in writing when any contribution is received and when it is obligated, listing the sources, amounts, and exact uses. Notices of obligation must include an estimated delivery timeline and say if any equipment needs enhanced end-use monitoring. Money given for these purposes may be put into the Operation and Maintenance, Defense-Wide account and kept available for the following two fiscal years. The Secretary must also send quarterly reports to the congressional defense committees on how the funds are used and their status.
