The President must send a report to certain members of Congress within 90 days after August 2, 2017, and then once a year. The report must show money given by the Russian government or any Russian person that was meant to influence the result of any election or campaign in any country in Europe or Eurasia during the previous year. It must cover direct support to parties, candidates, lobbying efforts, nongovernmental groups, or civic organizations. The report should be unclassified but may include a classified annex. The report goes to named Senate and House committees and leaders: Senate — Foreign Relations; Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; Armed Services; Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; Appropriations; Select Committee on Intelligence; and the Senate majority and minority leaders. House — Foreign Affairs; Financial Services; Armed Services; Homeland Security; Appropriations; Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence; and the Speaker, the House majority leader, and the House minority leader. A "Russian person" means either a Russian citizen or national, or an organization set up under Russian law or under Russia’s control.
