Title 22 › Chapter 102— COUNTERING RUSSIAN INFLUENCE IN EUROPE AND EURASIA › Subchapter III— EUROPEAN ENERGY SECURITY AND DIVERSIFICATION › § 9562
The United States must help European and Eurasian countries get more secure energy by using different sources and supply routes because that protects U.S. economic and national security. U.S. policy is to: (1) cut reliance on suppliers that use energy for political pressure, like the Russian Federation; (2) back open, competitive energy markets; (3) encourage U.S. investment in regional projects; and (4) help export U.S. energy, technology, and know-how.
