Title 22 › Chapter 106— CHAMPIONING AMERICAN BUSINESS THROUGH DIPLOMACY › § 9903
The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Commerce must publish every year a country- and region-specific report on a U.S. government website. The report looks at commercial relations and how to protect U.S. economic and business interests abroad, including exports and investments and help for small- and medium-sized businesses. For each country or region, the report must include business and political background; guidance on selling U.S. goods and services; top export and investment sectors; trade rules and customs like tariffs and required export papers; an investment climate overview covering policies, barriers, risks, legal and dispute processes, corruption, political violence, labor standards, and property rights; banking, payment, foreign-exchange rules, and project financing sources; business travel tips and local customs; services and a point of contact at the U.S. embassy or consulate; and any major trade or commercial agreements with the United States. It must not repeat information already in other reports.
