§416a Resident Advisory Committees

Summary

Each Retirement Home facility must have a Resident Advisory Committee made up of residents elected by their floor or area. The committee lets residents share needs, ideas, and concerns with management and helps pass along policies and general information to improve morale, safety, health, and well‑being. Elections are run by the facility Ombudsman. The Chair is elected by all residents for a two‑year term, talks with the Administrator, votes on the Advisory Council, sets agendas, runs meetings, and gives meeting minutes to the Administrator, who sends them to the Chief Operating Officer for approval. Meetings must happen at least once every three months.
