The Secretary, through the Service, must give Indians programs that promote health and prevent disease so the health goals in section 1602(b) are met. The Secretary must give the President an evaluation for each report sent to Congress under section 1671. The evaluation must cover four things: (1) Indians’ needs for health-promotion and disease-prevention, (2) which activities would best meet those needs, (3) the Service’s ability to carry out those activities, and (4) the resources needed to do so.
