The Secretary, through the Service, can give grants to Indian tribes, tribal organizations, and urban Indian organizations to fund new programs that prevent and treat mental and physical health problems in Indian preadolescent and adolescent youths. Grant money can be used to build culturally based prevention and treatment programs and to provide community training and education. Funds cannot be used for services listed in section 1665g(c). The Secretary must share information about model programs, encourage their use, help tribes when asked, and set rules for reviewing applications.
