Title 25 › Chapter 29— INDIAN GAMING REGULATION › § 2701
Congress found that many tribes run or license gaming on their lands to raise money for tribal governments. Courts say the Secretary must review gaming management contracts, but there were no clear federal rules for approving those contracts or for gaming in general. Federal policy is to promote tribal economic development and self-sufficiency, and tribes regulate gaming on their lands unless federal law or a State criminal law bans it.
