Title 25 › Chapter 7— EDUCATION OF INDIANS › § 271
The President can hire qualified, trustworthy people to teach Indian communities when he believes it will improve their lives and they agree. Those teachers can show farming methods that fit the local situation, teach children to read, write, and do arithmetic, and carry out other tasks under the rules the President sets for their work. Each year the President must give Congress a report on what was done.
