Title 25 › Chapter 33— NATIONAL INDIAN FOREST RESOURCES MANAGEMENT › § 3107
The Secretary must write rules within 1 year from November 28, 1990, that explain how money from sales of Indian forest products will be paid. If an Indian tribe asks, the Secretary must require buyers of that tribe’s timber sold under a Secretary‑approved contract, permit, or other harvest sale document to make prompt direct payments of the gross proceeds, minus any amounts set aside for forest management under section 3105, into a bank account the tribe designates.
