Agencies that handle child abuse may share information and records with other tribal, state, or federal agencies that need them, under the Privacy Act (5 U.S.C. 552a), FERPA (20 U.S.C. 1232g), or other laws. Indian tribal governments are treated like federal entities for this purpose.
