Title 25 › Chapter 36— INDIAN EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING AND RELATED SERVICES › § 3416
The Secretary of Labor must create, update, and publish a report at least once every two years about the people who are eligible for services for Indian people. The report must give national numbers broken down by State, Bureau of Indian Affairs service area, and tribe. It must cover total service population; those under 16 and over 64; people available for work (including those not actively looking); employed people (including those earning below the poverty line); and how many work in private versus public jobs. The Secretary must also work with the Census Bureau and the National Center for Native American Studies and Policy Development to make a report on the need for complete, accurate, and regularly updated data on the American Indian and Alaska Native population across the United States. That report must describe what information is needed, how much it would cost to collect, and cover needs in education, health, housing, job training, and other basic services, including needs of tribes and groups serving Indians off reservations. It must be sent to the named Congressional committees no later than 12 months after October 23, 1992.
