Title 25 › Chapter 9— ALLOTMENT OF INDIAN LANDS › § 350
The Secretary of the Interior can, when he thinks it is in the best interest of the Indians, let an Indian who already has a patent for reservation land (under treaty or law) give that patent back to the United States in writing and have it canceled. The Indian must then choose other land and get a new patent under the act of February 8, 1887.
