Title 25 › Chapter 38A— INDIAN TRIBAL JUSTICE TECHNICAL AND LEGAL ASSISTANCE › Subchapter II— INDIAN TRIBAL COURTS › § 3681
The Attorney General can give grants and technical help to Indian tribes so they can build, improve, and keep running their justice systems. The money can be used for things like making tribal laws and sentencing rules; setting up inter-tribal courts and appeals; creating probation, diversion, and alternative sentencing programs; providing juvenile services and child‑abuse response plans; and keeping traditional tribal courts and dispute-resolution practices. The Attorney General may work with the Office of Tribal Justice and other tribal or federal officials and may write rules needed to run the program. Funds needed for these activities were authorized for fiscal years 2011 through 2015.
