Title 25 › Chapter 41— INDIAN LANDS OPEN DUMP CLEANUP › § 3903
Within 12 months after October 22, 1994, the Director must study and make a list of all open dumps on Indian lands and Alaska Native lands. The list must show where each dump is, what is in it, and how much danger each dump poses to health and the environment. The Director must work with the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency on the danger ratings and get the Administrator’s agreement. When the study is done, the Director must report to Congress and update that report every year. The report must say the current priorities, how priorities were decided, how much money is needed to fix or close all open dumps, and the progress made. The Director must also start a 10-year plan that states how much money is needed to fix open dumps and to make solid waste plans for every Indian tribe and Alaska Native entity.
