Title 25 › Chapter 41— INDIAN LANDS OPEN DUMP CLEANUP › § 3906
The Director can set up a program to run demonstration projects about open dumps on Indian land or Alaska Native land. The projects must find out whether cleanup and upkeep cost more there and whether more advanced closing plans are needed. The Director must pick at least three Indian tribal governments or Alaska Native entities to take part. To join, a tribe or Alaska Native entity must control one or more open dumps on those lands and have a full solid waste plan plus a closure and postclosure maintenance plan for each dump. No project can get funding for more than three fiscal years.
