The Special Trustee must create an advisory board to give advice on all matters the Special Trustee handles. The Trustee will appoint nine members after consulting Indian tribes and appropriate Indian organizations: five to represent trust fund account holders (tribal and Individual Indian Money accounts), two with trust fund or financial management experience, one with fiduciary investment management experience, and one academic with knowledge of managing large organizations. Each member serves a two-year term. The board is not subject to chapter 10 of title 5 and ends when the Office of Special Trustee ends.
