Under section 4133 and the tribe’s housing plan, a tribe that gets a grant can use the money for affordable housing in many ways, like equity investments, loans with or without interest, interest subsidies, or to attract private investment. The tribe can set the terms. Grant money can also be invested in securities and other obligations approved by the Secretary.
