Title 25 › Chapter 43— NATIVE AMERICAN HOUSING ASSISTANCE AND SELF-DETERMINATION › Subchapter VII— OTHER HOUSING ASSISTANCE FOR NATIVE AMERICANS › § 4211
Indian owners of trust or restricted Indian lands, whether tribal or individual, may lease those lands for housing and other residential uses if the affected tribe and the Secretary of the Interior approve. Each lease can last no more than 50 years. This does not cancel or limit any other law that lets lands be leased, including laws that allow leases longer than 50 years. The rule takes effect without needing new regulations or orders.
