Title 25 › Chapter 3— AGREEMENTS WITH INDIANS › Subchapter II— CONTRACTS WITH INDIANS › § 82a
The Choctaw, Chickasaw, Cherokee, Creek, and Seminole tribes can make contracts that spend money or affect tribal property, including hiring lawyers, if the Secretary of the Interior or an authorized representative approves and the tribes follow the Secretary’s rules. This does not cover contracts that hire lawyers to sue the United States.
