Title 25 › Chapter 3— AGREEMENTS WITH INDIANS › Subchapter II— CONTRACTS WITH INDIANS › § 88
Anyone who knowingly gives a false voucher, account, or claim about any matter of the Indian Service must not get paid or get credit for it. False information can be about the amount, the item or service, the person’s name, or the date. If payment or credit was already given, the United States can charge it back and sue to get the money like any other debt. If an account has several vouchers, only the vouchers that are false are affected. In civil cases, the people dealing with the account are assumed to know the facts in the voucher. This does not stop other penalties or legal actions. When possible, this rule should be printed on blank voucher forms.
