Bankruptcy judges can be sent to work temporarily in a different judicial district if each circuit’s judicial council agrees. A retired bankruptcy judge can be asked to come back to serve in any district with that circuit’s approval and can be paid under rules from the Judicial Conference, but pay must follow the annuity limits in section 377, subchapter III of chapter 83, and chapter 84 of title 5.
