Interest on a claim against the United States can only be included in a judgment by the United States Court of Federal Claims if a contract or a law specifically says interest must be paid. If the Supreme Court affirms a judgment against the United States after review on a petition by the United States, the interest paid is the weekly average 1-year constant maturity Treasury yield, as published by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, for the calendar week preceding the date of the judgment.
