The Board must run and watch over the Federal Judicial Center. It must set policies and create programs to help the Center do its job. It must make recommendations to improve how federal courts are run, how court staff are trained, and how court resources are managed. It must study how computers and data systems can help the courts and include details of those studies in the annual report. It must also suggest subjects worth special study and support programs about the courts’ history. At least one month before the Judicial Conference’s yearly meeting, the Board must send a report of the Center’s work and its recommendations. The Board must also send copies of those reports and recommendations to Congress and the Attorney General. It must keep the Senate and House Judiciary Committees fully and promptly informed about the Center’s activities.
