Title 28 › Part III— COURT OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES › Chapter 57— GENERAL PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO COURT OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES › § 959
Trustees, receivers, or managers of property, including debtors in possession, can be sued for actions they take while running the business tied to that property without first getting permission from the court that appointed them. The court can use its fairness powers in those cases when needed, but people still keep the right to a jury trial. Except as provided in section 1166 of title 11, those trustees, receivers, or managers must run the property under the valid laws of the State where the property is located, the same way the owner or possessor would have to.
