If someone intentionally and knowingly breaks the rules in this chapter or its regulations, they can be fined up to $1,000, put in jail for up to one year, or both. If the person is convicted again for the same kind of violation, the fine can be up to $10,000, jail up to three years, or both. If a farm labor contractor who has been refused a registration certificate, failed to get one, or whose certificate was suspended or revoked violates paragraph (1) or (2) of section 1324a(a) of title 8 and is convicted, they can be fined up to $10,000, jailed up to three years, or both.
