The Secretary can go to any U.S. district court and ask for a temporary or permanent court order to stop or prevent violations if the Secretary finds this chapter or its rules have been broken. Except as provided in section 518(a) of title 28 about Supreme Court cases, the Solicitor of Labor can represent the Secretary in civil cases under this chapter, and those cases are handled under the direction and control of the Attorney General.
