Advanced workplace technologies means either modern manufacturing machines and software (for example, robots and automated controls) or new industrial methods that raise quality, productivity, and business practices. Department means the Department of Labor. Nonprofit organization means a tax‑exempt group under 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3), (4), or (5). Secretary means the Secretary of Labor. Worker organization means a labor organization as defined in 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(5).
