§3192 Definitions

Defines key words used for the Job Corps program and its centers. Applicable local board: a local board that gives a Job Corps center information about local job openings and the skills employers want, and that serves the communities where the center’s graduates seek work. Applicable one-stop center: a one-stop center that provides help like referrals, assessments, recruiting, and job placement to support Job Corps. Enrollee: someone who applied, was chosen, and joined Job Corps and is still in the program but not yet a graduate. Former enrollee: someone who did the same but left before graduating. Graduate: someone who joined Job Corps and finished a high school diploma or equivalent, or completed a career/technical program that prepares them for work or further schooling. Job Corps: the Job Corps program described elsewhere in the law. Job Corps center: a center for Job Corps described elsewhere in the law. Operator: an organization chosen to run a Job Corps center. Region: an area set by the Secretary. Service provider: an organization chosen to give services to a Job Corps center.
