Title 29 › Chapter 32— WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY › Subchapter I— WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES › Part C— Job Corps › § 3202
The Secretary must create clear behavior rules for Job Corps centers, and center directors must strictly enforce them. Directors can punish enrollees who break the rules and must dismiss anyone whose staying would make it hard to enforce rules, put staff, students, or the local community at risk, or hurt other enrollees’ opportunities. The Secretary must set a zero tolerance policy for violence, drug use/sale/possession, alcohol abuse, and other illegal or disruptive acts, and must require drug testing of all enrollees under the procedures in section 3195(a) of this title. Definitions: controlled substance — meaning in section 802 of title 21; zero tolerance policy — automatic dismissal when a director finds an enrollee committed one of those acts. Any disciplinary action must have a quick appeal process set by the Secretary.
