The Commissioner of Labor Statistics must find how customs laws and the state of the currency affect U.S. agriculture, especially farmers' mortgage indebtedness. He must create reports on production in leading industries at intervals of not less than two years, investigate disputes between employers and employees that may harm the welfare of people in the States, and collect foreign information, including whether any convict-made goods are imported and their origins.
