Title 30 › Chapter 23— GEOTHERMAL RESOURCES › § 1011
The Secretary can end a lease if the renter breaks lease rules or agency rules and does not fix the problem within thirty days after getting a notice. If the problem cannot be fixed in thirty days, the lease can still be ended unless the renter begins fixing it during those thirty days and keeps working on the fix without delay. The renter can ask for a hearing about the alleged violation or the planned lease ending by asking the Secretary within the thirty-day notice period. If a hearing is held and the Secretary finds a violation, the renter gets thirty more days after the Secretary’s decision to fix the problem or start fixing it.
