Good-faith claimants of U.S. nonmineral land, including those after July 17, 1914, that are later withdrawn or reported valuable for phosphate, nitrate, potash, oil, gas, or asphaltic minerals may obtain land title on proof they followed the law. Patents must reserve those deposits and U.S. rights to search, mine, and remove them.
