Title 30 › Chapter 25— SURFACE MINING CONTROL AND RECLAMATION › Subchapter IX— ENERGY RESOURCE GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS › § 1326
A person who gets a fellowship will only keep getting payments while the Secretary of Energy finds they are doing satisfactory work and spending almost all their time on study or research in the same field at an approved university, library, archive, or research center. They may not have paid work except part-time teaching, research, or similar jobs the Secretary approves. The Secretary of Energy must require fellows to file reports in the forms and at the times the Secretary sets. Each report must include a certificate from an appropriate official at the approved institution saying the fellow is making satisfactory progress and spending almost all their time on the research.
