It makes it a crime for someone covered by section 1461 to willfully and knowingly do any act that law bans. For certain listed violations (those labeled (1), (2), and (6) under the related rule) the penalty can be a fine up to $75,000 for each day the violation keeps going. For the other listed violations (labeled (3), (4), (5), and (7)) the penalty can be a fine up to $75,000, up to six months in jail, or both. If, while committing any offense, the person is subject to U.S. jurisdiction and uses a dangerous weapon, causes bodily injury to a federal officer or employee, or puts that officer or employee in fear of immediate harm, the penalty can be a fine up to $100,000, up to ten years in prison, or both.
