The Secretary of the Interior may let someone who has a permit or lease for land with sodium deposits use up to 40 acres of unused, nonmineral public land only for them. They must pay at least 25 cents per acre each year and may use the land for camp sites, refining works, and other activities needed to develop and use the sodium deposits for as long as the permit or lease lasts.
